Who We Are

Welcome to our GHA Family!

GHA's founders fervently believed the timeless values of the Jewish community transcend the differences among denominations.

They envisioned and ultimately built a place where Jews could and should respect each other, learn from each other, and work for the community's greater good.Students

The simplicity and eloquence of their perspective resonates as much today as it did then. It is what we intuitively understand about the school. It is what all of us, board members, teachers and parents, strive for. It encapsulates the vision of the great sage, Hillel, who challenges us in Pirkei Avot (2:6), "In a place where there are no mensches, strive to be a mensch."

Founded in 1953, GHA has a history of distinction and achievement.

We were the first Jewish day school in the country to be accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and have twice been honored as a National School of Excellence by the Council for American Private Education. GHA has also won the highly respected Jerusalem Prize for exemplary achievement in Zionist and Torah Education, administered by the World Zionist Organization.

BoysGHA is an independent community school. Its student body reflects the varied demographics of the Atlanta Jewish population. We believe in the importance of an inclusive student body, which is a composite of synagogue affiliations, academic abilities and socioeconomic levels. At GHA students develop self-confidence in their own abilities and beliefs and learn to respect the abilities and beliefs of others.

We create an atmosphere where all our students and teachers are part of the "GHA Family."

GHA has dual accreditation status from SACS and SAIS.
